Born in 1976 in Fort Stockton, Texas, and raised in West Texas, Auden discovered his love for photography at age 12. What started as a hobby evolved into a full-time career, drawing on skills honed from working with top photojournalists and network film crews. Featured in documentaries like the 2015 film Kingdom of Shadows (exploring perspectives on the drug war), Auden has built a reputation for high-end, dynamic storytelling.

As an award-winning independent journalist and border correspondent, Auden has gained international recognition for on-the-ground reporting on U.S.-Mexico border issues, migration, and security.
